La Santa Muerte

La Santa Muerte is a figure that has decorated botanicas and witchcraft shops across the globe. Appearing as a grim reaper like figure she has brought about a new movement in Mexico.

People are praying and calling on her for guidance in almost any situation and more and more everyday she is gaining followers. In the end it leaves the question who is she?

Santa Muerte can be seen as a saint or a Goddess, but one thing is for sure- many people are trying to portray her as a satanic messanger when in all reality she is another thread of divinity that can be recognized and loved like many others that have come before. The myths surrounding her are numerous and many are still unsure of who she really is. But for those who have accepted her know who La Santa Muerte is and need not fear the horrific propaganda that is out there. She is to them their protector, their guide, but most of all- their beloved Madre.

@pharaohbakura Yes, I have seen very nice portable altars made from cigar boxes. They hold statues, pictures, candles, offerings etc. I learned this from the podcast Get Witchified. They did an episode about La Santa Muerte. I think you can even buy cigar box altars from them.

very good video. Can anyone answer a question about La Santa Muerte that i have? A permanent altar isnt possible in my home. Is it okay to make a temporary one that i can take down and set up as necessary? id put it up when praying to her or when giving offerings. when i give an offering, i'd leave it up for a few hours and then take it down again. (respectfully disposing of any edible items or drink that i gave to her) is this ok?

I have been loyal to my Santa Muerte for almost 3 years and she has help me alot I love her she takes care of me n helps me with all my troubles my mom whorships her too she's the only one i can trust my life is in her hands and when ever she wants to take me with her I'm ready cause she's gonna be by my side!!!!

Blessed be! I'm an eclectic pagan who has just started praying to Santa Muerte and I really like her! I prefer to petition and pray to her my way- from the heart , instead of following someone else's instructions or prayers. I light a white candle and just talk to her from the heart. I do offer her things. I write petitions down and place them with a lit candle by her statue. Been feeling very drawn to her.

HEY i'm back on youtube, because a long list of life circumstances pulled me away

and omg i found santisima muerte candles at the dollar store and i was so happy, i've been following her since last october, and i had no way of getting the santisima muerte seven day candles and they have them in white and black but it made me happy to now have something "official" to petition her with and thank you for this video
