CALLE SUR - Cowboys of the Americas (orchestral)

This video shows a sampler of the concert "Cowboys of the Americas," as created and performed by Calle Sur together with the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra and world-renowned harpist Alfredo Rolando Ortiz.
U.S. cowboys have captured the imagination of people worldwide for well over 100 years, yet the cowboy tradition started in Latin America and was well developed in grassland areas there long before cowboys and open-range cattle herds came to the U.S. via Mexico and Texas starting in the 1850's. "Cowboys of the Americas" is a wonderful family concert program that features the diverse cowboy traditions from all of the Americas, both through classical music and through folk music.
