Soce has some questions for fabulous comedic folk rocker Jessica Delfino and her Flying V ukulele.
http://www.jessicadelfino.com
Here's the bonus question I mention at the end:
Say you have a ukulele that has 4 strings and 19 frets. How many different chords can you make by strumming 2, 3 or 4 strings at once, if your hand only allows you to play notes that are at most 3 frets difference between the lowest and highest fret played in that chord? And also the chord can include open strings, even if that string is more than 3 frets away.
For the sake of the examples, assume that 0 is an open string, 1 is the first fret from the open string, up to 19, which is the 19th fret from the open string.
Examples of chords you can play:
1 - 2 - 3 - 4
4 - 3 - 1 - 4
5 - 7 - 5 - 0
12 - 13 - 10 - 11
15 - 14 - 12 - 0
2 - 0
7 - 0 - 9
Examples of chords you cannot play:
1
19 - 17 - 16 - 15
0 - 3 - 6 - 9
14 - 4
I'm looking forward to seeing your solutions!

Uh, not all combinations are chords. Some result in dis-chord.
