"Our aim was to make gentle, intimate music and it was all about freedom and spontaneity," says Australian singer-songwriter Katie Noonan about her trio Elixir's new album.
Rumoured to be Noonan's most deeply-personal recording since her early years, First Seed Ripening is set to be released just ahead of the band's Brisbane Festival appearance.
Featuring master guitarist, Stephen Magnusson, superb saxophonist, Zac Hurren and a special string quartet, the lyrics sung by Noonan have been inspired by the words of the legendary Australian poet, Thomas Shapcott.
Shapcott, born in Ipswich recalls, "When Elixir first played with me, I was thrilled with their expertise and with Katie Noonan's singing and the way she made my words into something new."
It is sure to be a stunning performance from talented musicians in a wondrous open air setting.
