A 1964 recording of Alex Korner's Blues Incorporated. The track features the American singer, Ronnie Jones plus a blistering alto sax solo from Graham Bond. At one time or another, Blues Incorporated included Cyril Davies, Dick Heckstall-Smith, Jack Bruce, Charlie Watts, Long John Baldry and Ginger Baker.

  • brilliant to see graham Bond in the vid/post!

along with Alexis, Cyril davies, John Mayall et al Mr. Bond was a freakin LEGEND!! the GBO kick some serious arse!!

  • Thanks for the comment. I saw the GBO at the Club A'Gogo, Newcastle a couple of times in the mid sixties. Graham actually played alto sax and Hammond organ simultaneously in a couple of songs. Brilliant musician - a great pity he's no longer with us.

  • @rojox99 Were Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker in the band when you saw it?

  • @proferic I'm pretty sure they had both left when I saw Graham Bond in 1966. Dick Heckstall-Smith was still in the band and there was also a black guy playing trumpet. Later that year, in November, I did see Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker performing together. I was fortunate to be playing in a band that opened for the Cream at Redcar Jazz Club. They had only been together a few months but what an unforgettable performance.

  • thank you for this :)

  • @strawbaby1 Alex was always smoking these things: Rio6 from Villiger. They are what killed him too. But what a nicotine hit!!

  • @ 39-50 secs, was that a blunt in his mouth?

  • Hello.

Do you know where that picture of Blues Incorporated (about 20 seconds in) with Ginger Baker came from? Any leads are greatly appreciated!

  • I was lucky enough to see this band and the G B Organisation several times.

We were fortunate in the 60's to have all these great musicians.

I was in a band that supported GBO and Mayall and all these guys when they played our city in the UK. I learnt so much from them. Thanks for posting this.

  • geez, did this guy even NEED a microphone???

  • This would sound even better if Freddie King played some licks on this track.
