My bike had been sitting in storage for little over 10 years. Worked on it with my dad for 3 days and this is what it sounded like after cleaning the carburetors, new spark plugs and and oil change. Sounds better than my friends 2000 Yamaha R...lol

  • @onecp Have you competed the bike as yet would like to see the 1985 model in action their are not any where am from?

  • where's the air box to filter the air?don't complain when u suck something into the engine

  • i have the same bike, but im looking for an engine =/...

  • fast bike hi there but its a pig to start if the engines been done anyways nice

  • @onecp it doesn't get into the pilot circuit and clean the little passages. that just a lazy way of "cleaning" the carbs. its as if u choose to clean your teeth with mouthwash rather than tooth paste and tooth brush every day.

  • I disassembled all the carbs and then I went to the mexican market and got this bag of soap called ROMA Soap. You mix 1 cup of that with 1 gallon of gasoline and let the parts soak in it for over night. Its an old trade secret. It cleans all the old gunk off and its cheaper than buying spray can of carb cleaner

  • I just picked up an 86 600r, wasnt running and had been sitting for a long time also, cleaned the carbs today and it started right up! sounds absolutly amazing i cant wait to get out on the road on it... i rode it round the block but it looked like yours there, im going to restore to its former glory. Nice bikes!

  • You make any progress on putting it back together? lets see some vids of it on the road! good luck with everything.
