@nateboytwo It's because resorting to violence is a sign of low intellect, which is understood to help nothing among those of us who choose to use the higher functions of the human brain, and not the older, more animal like parts of it. :)

Hank as sheriff - it couldn't be worse! It's like putting a herd of cattle into a vegetable garden!

That was how men and women were. They weren't used to women being strong and certainly not equal. One thing about Hank, was that he never lied, and he was who he was. He had some level of shame, and silently supported others in little words or actions (remember when Dorothy was found not guilty of killing her husband shotting the gun at the end?) Power and money fueled men's wills. Not much has changed in that respect. Hank's job was not entirely respectable, but that was his business.

I think Hank is jealous of Sully and feels something for Michaela. He doesn't like knowing she has been pretending her husband was dead.
