  • it weird hearing "The NExt Station is West Ham, Change here for the Jubilee Line and National Rail Services"

Seeing it now "change here for the Jubilee Line, The DLR and National Rail Services

  • I look for a similar kind of stock with a flatter roof which made it look more angular.

It also ran on District Line, but as I remember, not on the High Street branch.

  • In 1999 a trail refurb took place on unit 7008 although it was just trailer car 17008 that was properly refurbished. Then in 2002 when the unit finally entered service a change of seat moquette took place as well as a varnishing of the floors and the lighting was upgraded. The proper refurbishment started in 2004 with the first 3 entering service on 31st May 2005. The last ever silver train went out on the 28th Feb 2008. The prototype went out in late Dec 2007!

  • This is my local train! The first ever D78 stock train entered service on Monday 28th January 1980 replacing the CO/CP and R stock trains (the very last 2 person operated trains on the Districtline). They originally had push button open doors but due to the uprise in passenger traffic it was soon abolished. they also had grabhandels for the disabled but these had to be removed between 1990 and 1991 due to vandilsm!
