I was just feeling like because I was a baby surgery was performed against my will, and was it really necessary? This child makes me realize what would have happened had I not had the surgery.
When I was about 4 or 5 I was again hospitalized for a very serious illness involving my kidney valves. I remember feeling as a child that I wasn't afraid to die at all. I didn't understand why adults worried so about that. I think your child would want to say that to you.

I looked up volvulus because I had that when I was a baby. They used me in medical books/encyclopedia. Sometimes I wonder if umbilical chords being pulled and twisted during the birthing process couldn't contribute.

Volvulus: Abnormal twisting of the intestine which can impair the blood flow to the intestine.
