I was 18 when I first came across this sonnet and I liked it so much that I memorized it and recited it to myself whenever I walked through Central Park...
So although it's 25 years later I only had to read it a few times to re-memorize it...

I tag Mobby, Clo, Curefantastic, Fian, Rad, Kid, Ekajrado, Ilikenuman, Ieghairdude, 2011masssuicide, Isabel the older Boxxysister who shares the same birthday as me (!), thedefendingchampi to recite a poem (could be anything in verse, like song lyrics) of their choice (try to memorize it ~ if it's long you can memorize just a small portion of it) ^_^

*****
Shall I compare thee to a Summer's day
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And Summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his golden complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair some time declines,
By chance or by nature's changing course untrimm'd:

But thy eternal Summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of the fair thou ow'st;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st :
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

  • Actually I am more like a Winter's night.

    The truth shall out and I will be quick of it,

    Dearest Piglet, forsooth a commoner jests with thee,

    And takes comfort in the muse...

    For news comes of some emails sent,

    Know not I , where my night went.

    But comfort to be known,

    That my affection for you shown.

    Tora doffs his cap, bows, and leaves stage left...
