  • Jesus was a very anti-religious spiritual leader. He decried religion and its leaders at that time over and over as we see in his teachings. Jesus was a spiritual mystic and, in fact, many of his teachings and healings were part of Essenes mysticism of the time. Jesus was a threat to religion's authority because he taught of inner truth rather than outsourcing beliefs to another person aka religion. Religion is a manifestation of the ego and all of its flaws. Bryan Fischer is a prime example

  • Jesus Christ was a liberal hippy jew.... Jesus's primary message was to reject greed, reject violence, heal the sick, and feed the hungry. NONE of these things are GOP ideals.... Jesus would be PISSED at the Republicans

  • The irony of republicans being beaten over the head with the new testament is delicious.

  • When has anything the Jesus said been VOLUNTARY to born again Christians? In America WE the people are the government! And aren't WE according to YOU Mr. Fisher a Christian nation founded by Christian values?

  • If Jesus didn''t like Obama's agenda, then why didn't he just strike him down with lightning or something? How did he ever manage to become president then? This right-wing nuts sure confuse the hell outta me.

  • OH! Right...I stand corrected. Thanks!

  • I do believe this is a strong contender for the coveted "Stupidest Thing Ever Said" award

  • I love that the Religious Right went apeshit over Obama invoking Christianity to support progressive ideals. More Democrats should do this! There is a rich tradition of liberal Christianity to draw from.

  • Jesus Does Not Support Fischer's Agenda.

  • OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE... Isin't the also some passages about shutting the fuck up and doing what you are told...oh wait, that's just for women...

  • @2086Official - Why should a politician follow the bible? That would be offensive to jews, muslims, zoarastrians, pastafarians, and all the other religious creeds out there. Add to that even if he *did* follow the buy bull, he would be offensive to 99% of the christians out there because, let's be honest here, there's no such thing as "the one true faith." There are as many different religious faiths as there are people who believe them.

  • He means Jesus believed in the transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich? Wow. I was not aware of that.
