  • Brilliant!

  • @annezieger I agree but then again I think its great to see variation to the norm and it feels like a completely different piece all together :) I wouldn't say restrained just different

  • Well I think the clarinet intro blows the most of all the orchestra version. And right now I'm finishing up learning it paino solo and I'm going to play it next month. Despite my disgust for classical pieces, I find Rhapsody in blue quite nice and pleasent to play. Meybe because I've never liked to use the indexed fingers and it gives me the freedom to play it as I want, when the more classical pieces are simply impossible if you don't use the fingers suggested :D

  • @jjp009

Of course I meant "sheet music", sorry for the typo.

Rhapsody in blue is a masterpiece which I love and study on the piano (although it's very difficult)

    Thanks

  • @mbayssel I sure hope you meant "sheet" music and not "shit" music. Because this is pretty good stuff.

  • @IAmWeird29

Learning how to read shit music is quite easy, and it will be the easiest part of your learning this piece.

  • @jjp009

Indeed, the piano solo version is awfully difficult, but so much better than the orchestra version, which useless violin and brass effects are just disgusting. The only good point of the orchestra is the clarinet intro.

  • He kinda looks the the unemployed guy in the Fantasia movie that plays this song

  • this really makes me want to learn to play piano

  • @IAmWeird29 Well, I have the sheet music for solo piano, but I have to tell you that despite my years as a classical pianist, I only attempted this piece once...and NEVER again. This is extremely difficult music for a solo pianist! My complete awe and admiration go to this man, Dr. Kogan, for playing this so well and with such depth and understanding. He truly gets the jazz concept, which I do not and probably never will.
