Just a quick video of shooting our AR-15 at 200 yards with iron sights. We sighted in at 50 yards then steped back to 100 yards and then setteled in at two hundred. This was the kids first time shooting 200 yards with Iron sights, next time I get a few hours off we will step back to 250 and 300 yards, at this gravel bank that we own we can just get 400 yards, looking forward to trying that but I will need a full sheet of plywood for a backstop I am sure. Eagelcreekbrewer has been helping me with shooting advice, his daughter is a first rate competitive shooter.
The rounds we are useing are factory M183 federal 55 grain .223/5.56 rounds, we will be loading our own rounds soon and we will work up loads for tighter groups.
Thanks for watching, please rate, comment and sub!

  • to tell you the truth thats not really that hard when your resting it on something...

  • For a 12 year old, ya, thats pretty good shooting!

  • not bad, especially with iron sights. I have a 6 by 16 mil dot on my 22. lr and I can put in groups like that at 250 yards, killed a groundhog on the run at 250 last week with it!! Great use of pinnacle!!

  • Groundhog running, holy crap, at 250, thats stretching it. I have not scoped this rifle to teach the kid shooting with iron first, maybe next year. We have worked up loads and next time it should be tighter and we will step back to 300 and see what happens, we will bring a full sheet of plywood.

  • Hey Jim, Mrs. Rock is filming the dance fest as we speak. You cant believe how this music gets the party rolling. I even have Ken out of his chair.

  • I am glad the Rock clan has found their dancing shoes with my music, funny my wifes cat gets up and does a little two-step when that music plays, it dont do much for me, the cat is black, hmmm, could you be related to Obama?

  • @yamahabansheerider he did, and he shot better lol

  • at the end when he was doing rapid fire off hand he grouped like 4 in the bull, wow, those guns are so amazing, I have a colt w/ 20 inch barrel.... (: love it.

  • @ctgolfer The shooting at 4:00 was pretty nice though, very good for his age.

  • @ctgolfer It's decent for anybody, when it's standing on a post that holds it in place it takes most of the skill out of it. All you need is a pair of eyes and to know how to line up your sights since it isn't really far enough to have to worry about significant bullet drop and there didn't seem to be any wind.

  • dude come on take your gun out of that rig and free hand shoot it.

  • somethings rotten in denmark here

  • Colt rifles are the best. nice shooting.

  • Never give a ginger a gun, Cunfucius say.

  • gingah!!!

  • I thought all asault rifles were automatic at least in this era.
