Dear God I have been looking for this recording for years! I had the song long ago but lost it, and have dug through tons of other artists playing it and none match Itzhak!
-
Perlman is always the best choice for Bach's expressivity
-
One word "wow". Critics of this man if you can play better than him, i will bend over and french kiss my own arse.
-
Simply the best !!
-
@rcookierocks: I`m sure, David`s able to play it the same way....do YOU know, who hides behind this photo of Perlman?? : ))
-
in my opinion, he plays sarabande the best. I am in love with his deeper sound with his vibrato. the music perlman makes in magic!!
-
Back to Bach.
-
I don´t think that bach is posible with too much vibrato
-
These sonatas were initially conceptualised for Lute or guitar - not the violin. It is easy to loose the flow of the chords on the violin, a fact that makes most interpretations sound a bit awkward when compared with guitar. Perlman is great, but Vengerov's interpretation, the more "hollow" style with less vibrato brings this out better.

Lo hace como nadie!! (L)
Are you joking!!!??? This is Itzhak Perlman you're taking about! He's one of the greatest violinists of our time, and 135628910 you have no right to say that about him. To criticize one aspect of his playing is one thing. To call his playing "like a monkey" is another. And, of course Perlman understands the music. I'm sure he understands it better than you could ever hope to. Don't make a post like that. It doesn't impress anyone, and you make yourself look like a fool.
