This movie made me a different person.I watched it and it made me want to go outside so I made time everyday to do so and now its my favorite thing to do. And it also helped me find Arcade Fire which led me to some also great bands like Radiohead and stuff.Which made me strive to be a certain person because I wasnt happy with myself. I have since gone outside almost everyday and a HUGE fan of these awesome bands and built many forts. All started over a year ago. And to think it's just a movie...

maurice sendak faced a lot of horror in his life... his extended family was killed in the holocaust.. he lost his innocence at a very young age. he had a lot of time on his hands after being sentenced to his bed when he became ill.. in where the wild things are... he depicts childhood in such a beautiful complicated fashion which is hard to fully grasp.. the movie is the what the book was about completely. just with more time to get to specifics.

This is one of the greatest trailers of all time. Really made the movie look more compelling than it actually was. And that is not an insult to the movie.

@n0possibility I disagree...the movie is not even about the book considering that the book is less that 100 words n is full of pics...the movie is just inspired by the original children's book...I read the book n dont know at the movie is about...it's full of drama n goes far from what the book really tries to teach based on the trailer I've seen

It amazes me that people saw this movie, realized how terrifying it was, and still think it was intended for kids. It's not a film about childhood, it's about childhood's end, more for the parents of rowdy kids than for kids themselves. Like the book, in a way. It reminds parents of what many children at this tender age are going through: slowly becoming aware that it's time to leave their simple and rambunctious adventures behind, but afraid of moving on to a strange, more hostile world.
