My Homemade hovercraft on the ice. See plans at: http://mysite.verizon.net/johnginette
It uses a backpack leaf blower for lift and a small snowblower engine with a model airplane prop. See how I built it at http://mysite.verizon.net/johnginette/

  • lol i meant finger skirt

  • I don't see why not. They are a lot more involved. You might want to buy just 1 replacement bag for a Scat and then use it as a template. I've taken this one apart and I am planning on building a bigger one at some point but I have other things going on right now. Some day. Good luck and let us know what you come up with.

  • what does the bottom of the skirt look like ive had alot of trouble making one that works well

  • Check my website for directions and more pictures. Click on Homemade Hovercraft

  • That's pretty cool. What kind of motor did you use to steer? What did you use for a skirt?

  • Go to the website in the description and click on homemade hovercraft for all the info. Any other questions let me know.

  • I built a hovercraft with a tire innertube a lawnmower engine.

It worked well on water and land.

In oder to fully hover on land it had to be several inches off the ground at the lowest point and was very unstable.

Several "experts" would always try to tell me how to build the next one but were always quiet when I asked them to show me the one they built.

I later built one with a tractor innertube, much larger.

Normal MO was to float in the water for a while and hover back.

  • it doesnt hove^ ^

  • theoretically, a hovercraft would slide around just as easily on less slippery surfaces if it were working properly and actually hovering completely

  • am planning to build this one but am wondering whether i can use a fingure type skirt instead of a bag skirt ?

  • Let me know how that 4x8 works out for you. I might try to build one myself but I wanna hear that it works before I invest any money in making one for myself.

  • Ya thats what i was thinking...im thinking about buildint one my self and it will be most likely those Dimensions if i do, Maby more like 5x8 though.

  • lol its like a swamp boat on water
