I've noted that the characters in Atlas make a point of not pushing the ideology on people. Much emphasis is placed on the fact that attempting to actively convert people is counterproductive, you can only present them with the facts and let them draw their own conclusions.

Unfortunately you're exactly right; we have to rely in the incompetent idiocy of the rest of the world to realize its shortcomings.

If, according to your morality, keeping what you've produced is selfish, than the desire to live must also be selfish.

Yeah... I'm definatley going with whatever horeshit morality you espouse.

The problem with taxes in general is that they take money from you involuntarily to fund programs you may not agree with, or perhaps even find morally outrageous. They prevent you from withdrawing your financial support required to allow those programs to continue.

The problem with tarriffs is that while they help local producers, the consumers suffer an equal amount. If the Japanese can make a better car for less money, why shouldn't I be able to buy it?

I think this is why the community that was attracted to this ideology is so civilized and understanding in their discussion of their morals and ideals. They/ you show a level of true desire for knowledge and understanding that opens up a dialogue. This should be the standard for people who interact with others of a different ideology, not the exception imo, but it's good to know that people like you all exist. I enjoy your company.

"we are steeped in the tradition of raping, pillaging and killing people for the benefit of the upper 1% and we will not stop until we've raped, pillaged and killed everyone until we have only ourselves left to rape, pillage and kill."

"we are steeped in the tradition of saying one thing and doing something else."

"we are steeped in the tradition of inflicting terrorism everywhere."

"we are steeped in the tradition of inbreeding."

"we are steeped in the tradition of......bullshit."

maybe this is why the 1% doesn't pay taxes,,,,they don't want the corporations to leave the country, i see nothing wrong with giving them a break after watching atlas shrugged, ,,,companies are leaving the united states every day because of government control , also whats wrong with 15% flat tax, we need to have higher taxes on imports i.e.. cars

I disagree totally with John Galt's form of morality. But the wonderful thing about John is he doesn't force his morality onto me. I think compassion and self sacrifice are good things as long as the individual doing the sacrificing chooses to do so.. That's what so many people find hard to understand.

it was the other way around. LeVey read Atlas Shrugged and then wrote the Satanic Bible, He also got many things wrong. You call it greedy for someone to want to keep the benefits of their own labor? What do you call it when someone expect to receive the benefits of someone else's labor for free?
