I was upset that this wasn't already on the internet. Actually I was so Angry I made this youtube video because I was searching for 3 days on how to accomplish this.
Also make sure if you are using a mesh to not have collision on the mesh. Unreal creates the collision in the particle editor.


I hope you can get to this point but there are other videos that show you how to get to this point.

  • Can particles create shadows?

  • @D1NOSAWR not to the best of my knowledge. The only time I have ever seen particle effects cast shadows is with the frostbite engine. I know with the newer verisions of UDK the lighting can effect the particle effects lighting. I would check the UDK website upgrade notes because with each update they go over what they upgraded.
