This is Sparta. Many years ago around 480 BC, King Leonidas took 300 Spartans to Thermopylae to stop the progress of an unstoppable army from the Persian Empire. They numbered in the millions, yet the Spartans stood their ground against them, using their knowledge of the land and the skills of war against an enemy others would rather surrender to than fight for their freedom. The Spartans held back the Persian army for three days before their 300 were lost, yet they slaughtered the Persians by the thousands, demoralizing them and giving the rest of Greece the time to gather their courage and defeat the rest of the army, ending the invasion.

The efforts of the 300 Spartans is one of history's most famous last stands, and serves as a lesson to show it's possible to win against overwhelming odds. And while this Wisconsin city of Sparta is not the Sparta King Leonidas fought to protect, it serves to remind us of that lesson in a time when it's important to stand up against yet another force which seeks to enslave our freedoms.

In the early 1950s, L. Ron Hubbard created what would become Scientology, a belief which as of today has enslaved the minds of millions. Scientology promises perfection of the mind and spirit, giving freedom of thought, perfect health, and possibly super natural powers over mass, energy, space and time. In reality, none of this has ever been proven, yet it continues to be preached to the masses. People are not told outright how these amazing feats are possible, but are instead asked to pay thousands of dollars in order to be audited over the course of many years, only being told pieces of what Scientology is really about after committing themselves for so long and paying so much. By the time they are told anything substantial, they are usually too deep within the grips of Scientology to leave, having disconnected with those they once knew, as Scientology requires of them.

Despite the fact Scientology has been shown as dangerous and destructive to humanity, it still exists due to their relentless attacks which lash out against anyone who should discredit them. With their fair game tactics, Scientologists have done countless acts of harassment and humiliation against otherwise concerned citizens, distorting facts and manipulating the attention of the masses, keeping eyes away from the dark secrets which are rampant throughout the history of Scientology. Due to the vast amounts of money they have gathered from their enslaved followers, lawsuits are constantly being thrown around, keeping those who wish to speak out against them in legal limbo. Lawsuits are also thrown at anyone who speaks of the secret documents which can only be seen after paying thousands of dollars, because they are claimed as intellectual property, making it copyright infringement to even quote their beliefs. Expressing doubt in the face of Scientology had become a crime, and no one would dare speak against them for fear of having their lives ruined. Their plans to recruit more people within their fold have gone unopposed.

Until now.

On January 16, 2008, the Internet collective known as Anonymous decided it was high time for Scientology to pay for their crimes against humanity, and began a protest code named Project Chanology. Unlike regular people, Anonymous is a force which cannot be traced, and therefore cannot be stopped with lawsuits or physical attacks. They are everyone, and they are no one. They are worldwide, and are your neighbors, your friends, and your lovers. They use the power of connection and anonymity which the Internet provides in order to spread the truth of Scientology, something which cannot be stopped. Like the Persians against the 300 Spartans, Scientology now fights on a terrain against an enemy which has the upper hand. With their weapons of attack taken away, Scientology can do nothing but watch as the world is shown for what they truly are.

If you know nothing of the evils which Scientology has done, simply search the Internet and you will be shown all you need to know. If you already know what is at stake, then do what you can in order to support Anonymous and make the world aware. We do this for the Scientologists who have left their previous lives because they were told to. Who aren't allowed to ask questions, think for themselves, and express who they really are. The first protest of February tenth was an epic win, and the next protest shall be held this coming Saturday on the 15th. The Ides of March, and two days after the birthday of L. Ron Hubbard. Come to the protests and party hard with your fellow Anonymous brothers and sisters. The cake may or may not be a lie, but your efforts will ultimately be rewarded in lulz, and hopefully the freedom of thought Scientologists really deserve.

Knowledge is free, and it's time for Scientology to fall.

We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us.
