I thought this hook was a gimmick till I tried it. You can catch fish without setting the hook, and without killing the fish.

i throw live baitfish for stripers in the potomac using small circle hooks- specifically owner mutu light size 6. they work perfectly and i hardly ever lose a fish once he is hooked. he is right though, dont jerk the rod to set the hook, especially with stripers and their soft mouths, youll rip the hook right out of their mouths.

I used gamatsu circle hooks recently for cat fishing and everyone I caught was in the corner of the mouth. A large mouth came by and was hooked the same way. The Circles work as decribed.
