Garrett Dejordy and 2 busloads of friends took the trip to Providence to see the PawSox play. Garrett joined Hall of Famer Jim Palmer in throwing out the first pitch. Our baseball team decided to celebrate Garrett's retirement from competitive baseball with a big bash to help raise money for the trip. Enough money was raised to pay for the trip and to launch the Unified Sports Program. Garrett has Down Syndrome and USP's goal is to help kids with special needs to enjoy sports alongside their more typical peers.
