Sgt. Bilko's Krazy Combo at the legendary SUN studio, 706 Union Avenue, Memphis Tennessee. This recording was from a 4-5 day session during the band's visit to Memphis in Sept/Oct 2010.
Berni had booked the SUN studio a year or so beforehand, then a series of events... global financial meltdown, divorces and double heart by-passes , prohibited other original members of this 1980's Combo from making the trip to the USA. At the 11th hour, Broomey ( Lost Souls ) provided a replacement bass player..... Gaz Clarke. Ian Donaldson, who Berni had played with in another side project...with ex-Meteors drummer Mark Howe, provided drums...even though he was brought in on rhythm guitar!
The band had only a week or so to rehearse 7 Bilko songs!
What should have been a disaster...was a great success...thanks to James Lott's emergency dash to the local moonshine emporium!
