hard to believe it's been almost 3 years since this song came out, it's the first song I heard from her (when it first came out) and I LOVE her! So talented, so beautiful. I hope she makes much more beautiful music for us to enjoy.

No you guys its not about the Karate Kid. Its about a real guy in her past, but she didn't want his actual name on the song. That's was too personal for her, so she named it after her childhood crush Daniel (Karate Kid)... I read that one of her magazine interviews. Forgot which mag though.
