Escartefigue was the unlucky horse who deserved his day in the sun. He should have won the stayers and was unlucky to run into Florida Paerl in the Sun Allaince. But so many nearly greats in one race, this really brought back my ealry gambling memories.

the ground was way too soft for unguided missile that day, on good ground, he was a really good horse..
i dont know why they were pratting arouind running dorans pride in hunter chases age 14... he was way past his best and paid the ultimate price for it.
its very sad to see a former class horse still competing at a much lower level. some people never know when a horse has done enough.
