The thug is studying this thing with both awe and horror. "What the HELL are you?!" It doesn't answer. The thug lunges into it. The shadow, again, dodges with the grace of an acrobat, a gymnast. Leaping over the thug with next to no effort, he grabs him from behind, and half-nelsons him into unconsciousness. Short work. The shadow straightens itself out, the dank streetlights covering the alley in a decrepit light. It catches the figures torso.

The shadow is fighting them now with an awesomely grim grace, ebbing and flowing, ducking and dodging every swift attack the thugs throw at it. It counters one thugs right cross with a hard boot to the sternum. Two more. One tries to shoot, but the gun is swept out of his hands with minimum effort. He swings at the shadow and misses. A fatal mistake. The shadow turns his weight against him, throwing him down hard while kicking the other's pipe as it swings. Last one..

Thugs circle around the slain corpse, having idle conversation in matter-of-fact tones. Unbeknownst to them, a shadow swirls up on an adjacent rooftop from what seems to be thin air. It makes a gesture and jumps off, gliding with an awkward horror about it, growing into some monstrous being. A second later, a gun toting thug goes down. The rest are taken aback. A batarang. No sooner than they know what hit the thug, two are taken down by the figure. Three more to go..
