The Galeon Andalucia is a 1:1 replica sail ship of a 16th century Spanish galleon used to explore the world. It was created by a private Spanish foundation called Nao Victoria. The ship have motors to navigate in and out of ports, but out in the open sea it uses only wind power. In good wind condition the ship can achieve 10 knots. The ship is run by 33 sailors, mostly young students. The original galleon carried 150 sailors to do the same job. By the time this video was taken, the galleon was in the middle of a long journey from Spain to China. its first stop was Malta, currently its in Israel, and next stop is Egypt.
הספינה גלאון אנדלוסיה הינה שיחזור מדוייק של ספינת מגלי ארצות ספרדית מהמאה ה16. הספינה יוצרה ע"י קרן ספרדית פרטית בשם נאו ויקטוריה. לספינה אמנם הוסיפו מנועים כדי לנווט בתוך נמלים, אבל בים הפתוח היא נעה בכוח הרוח בלבד. ברוח טובה הספינה יכולה להגיע עד ל10 קשרים (כ20 קמ"ש) מהירות נאה ביחס לגודלה. את הספינה מפעיל צוות של כ33 איש, רובם סטודנטים חובבי הרפתקאות. במקור היה צורך בכ150 מלחים על מנת לתפעל את אותה ספינה. הספינה יצאה למסע הראשון שלה שמתחיל בספרד ומסתיים בסין. בזמן צילום הוידאו הספינה היתה באמצע המסע בחניה בישראל
