RICHMOND - The Olympic exodus began early at Vancouver International Airport, the day after the Vancouver Games came to a close.
About 58,000 people were expected to pass through YVR including arrivals.
Its the busiest day ever at the airport.
But airport spokesman Paul Levy says solid measures are in place to deal with the crowds.
He says people from the athletes' villages in Vancouver and Whistler could check in their baggage 24 hours ahead of time and go through a remote processing area before taking off.
The Olympians may be leaving but the party isn't over just yet.
Vancouver's population will swell again over the next 11 days as the Paralympic Games are set to get underway March 12th.
