Everyone is free to pursue music as a hobby. The moment you take it public for pay, then it's no longer merely a hobby. I wouldn't pay to listen to anyone perform as badly as the late {wonderful wife, mother/caretaker, humanitarian, tofu-eating, sheep-sparing} Linda E. McCartney.
