More and more garages all over the country are offering conversion services that can turn your hybrids into plug ins that can get up to 200 miles per gallon. The conversions involve the replacement of the Hybrid's battery with a lead acid or lithiun ion pack, and installing the proper electronics that enable the batteries to be charged from an ordinary wall socket. The second generation Toyota Prius is the easiest car to convert, but the garages can convert Ford Escape hybrids or almost any car currently on the road for an extra fee. Why are the car companies telling the world their plug in products are not available when they really are? If an after market company can convert any hybrid to plug in then we should stop buying gas powered cars. If the little guys can do it the big guys can.

Any one Else hear the word lead acid battery? the big lie is were waiting on battery technology. the largest fork lift i ever drove was an electric lead acid battery. 33 years ago.

@apache4541 : you are full of sh*. I just checked their site and their vehicle rated system takes 5.5 hours to charge. The plates are rated for 20Ah but nothing is said about their amps themselves, but at 3.3v, I'm guessing 30. It also has a 1000 cycle life. Lithium-ion (which A123 produces at nanograde) even at nano still has residual problems. And you posted 7 months ago, I doubt the company got worse over time.
