There are people out there who misunderstand what he said and spread falsehoods based on that misunderstanding, hence some confusion. As the above says, he may be dead but based on what we have been shown he was last seen alive.

I used to really like bleach awhile ago, but it seems that it got dumb after aizen was defeated. What I kind of disliked about bleach was that they thought they were being funny, but it just came out as annoying. Sad to say, because I used to really like it, however everything before Aizen's defeat was still pretty awesome.

Ok let me break it down to you guys: for one: he was like the best villian on this bitch!
He said no to Aizen, when nobody else did... HE was the one who always took a second to think before he just mindlessly followed orders like the other Espada.. I think his real goal was to just get stronger (Vegeta mentality right?)
