Full title:The Key Elements of the Film Look. How Digital Cinematography is Changing Contemporary Filmmaking.

Abstract: Digital cinematography, with the revolutionary RED One camera at the forefront, is changing contemporary filmmaking. HDSLR cameras allow amateurs to capture very professional looking footage and post production methods have never been as widely available. This thesis examines what are the most important elements of the film look that everyone wants to achieve. Six experts were interviewed and a test was made to see whether depth of field or color grading would have a bigger effect on peoples perception of quality in four different video clips. Color grading had a stronger positive effect than a a change in DOF but overall the results were not conclusive.
