Former tenant left several "test areas" of an epoxy/quartz coating. In some areas the coatings were 3/4" of an inch thick! The rest of the floor was covered with an epoxy paint. Using multiple pieces of equipment we were able to turn over a decent looking warehouse floor to the building owner.
We found that the Smith SPS-10 planer (scarifier) with the flail drum was the most effective at removing the materials. The downside to the planer (scarifier) was that the substrate was not level and very rough. To bring the floor up to an acceptable finish we had to heavily work it with an HTC-500 with PCD tooling then follow along with the Werkmaster Titan.
This was the first time using the Pathfinder Dust Recovery Vacuum and it worked great! Most of the dust generated from grinding was picked up by the vacuum leaving the customer with a warehouse cleaner than when they started!
