In May 2009, residents of a Detroit neighborhood witnessed a woman walk into the backyard of a burned, vacant residence, chain up a dog in the backyard, and drive away. They called MHS Cruelty Investigation Department, who quickly responded to the case.
When we found him, he had no food or water, was hungry, and very thirsty, said Mark Ramos, Senior Cruelty Investigator. But as soon as we got in the yard, we could tell he was very friendly. Once we unhooked him, he even wanted to run around and play.
I feel so sorry for the abandoned dogs the Michigan Humane Society are my heroes but the people who abandon the animals should receive our pity as well because they were born without a brain, have no love of animals and are so self centred that they will never be happy, give me my 6 rescue dogs anyday.VEE.

Note who abandones and abuses the most of these animals, and who mostly takes them in.
