  • hello mate...i have some questions..i have a xr3i '88.and i would like to change the pistons, ring, cam shaft,etc...where do u buy the partst? where are u from?and how much does those forged piston costt?would my engine run good with those pistons? tnx alot mate!

  • @BASTILEON hi i'm from malta. the forged racing pistons costed me around 850euros. i bought them from a local tuner. you can find online racing parts. but i suggest that you buy a an engine instead of modifying yours. this would be more reliable and will cost you less.

  • hi there have you got the engine built yet what power you running at the wheels??

iv got a few cvh engines but mostly build zvh (zetec bottom end with cvh head on it (YY) bigger safer power)

  • yes maybe the zetec bores are better than the cvh. But in my escort RS i wanted to keep the orignal but tuned engine.

Now the project is ready and is running @ 15 psi giving 210bhp.

  • no it's an ford escort rs turbo 1600cc 8valve

  • What Brand Pistons Are Thoes? Why Do They Only Have For One Valve On Each Side?

  • canna with acrelite rings.. no the car is 8 valve therefore 2 valves on each pistons.. and 4 of them are big valves (ported and lowered head). hope this answers your question.

  • Maltese BADASS tuning :p well done nies

  • Wow, incredibly clean engine! Spotless

  • @terenztec

Exactly the same as me with my fez, rebuilt just as the standard CVH 1.6 but highly tuned, the zetec block does have better oil galleries and thicker cylinder walls i beleive but... it's modern, and isnt what the car was "born" with... im a ford RS purist.

  • Nice to see someone else still has a love for the CVH engine.A fantastic engine unfortunately slated by others. The CVH is a very strong quick revving light engine, what kills them is lack of maintaince, dirty oil and lack of coolant in the water just kills the poor things.A CVH thrives on clean oil, regular oil/filter changes, correct coolant/water mixture and regular engine breather cleaning or replacement.

  • nice and clean.. :)

  • I lke old masters work ,Ucan learn from them a lot x]
