Sit back for 10 minutes and enjoy ( PART 1) of some long lost commercials of 1961 from Route 66. Many Chevolet Impalas, Biscayne, Brookwood Station Wagon, Corvairs, Trucks, etc. Bayer Asprin and Philips Milk Of Magnesia, it will surely bring back some great memories, it does for me!
So true. I remember doing a tuneup and just using a sparkplug wrench, compression gauge, and some matchsticks (points), and that was pretty much it. We could replace our fuel pump, put in a new starter, etc, now you have to pay up the wazoo to have it done by a specialist!

@publicatdamagnificen yeah, they are,,,,,,,,,,,but what I don't like is that they are too complicated for the average driver to repair. There was a time when my car broke down I had at least a 50/50 chance of being able to fix it on the road well enough to get it home. Not anymore

@inkey2 Yes, but today's cars are better built, safer, and more reliable.

Ah Yes The Chevy Impala 1961. My Dad bought one. My brother and I were pissed because he got a Straight 6. We preferred the 2 door S/S with a road rippin' V8. Some local hoodlum stole it anyway and slammed it into an L pillar in Da Bronx. Later
