  • My basement K9 85MCW is being triggered by an 10 pound cat. The problem is the basement stairs are located about 7 feet to the left of the installed location.

When the cat comes down stairs, she is over to the left, but near the top of the stairs, just about at eye level with the sensor. Kinda in the center of the vertical zone.

So, can I install some black tape inside the lens, to block the left side of the sensor?

To keep it from seeing the stairs..

    Thanks,

    Rich

  • @Xringer Hi, we are asking our tech dept. for an answer right now. Remember, with all purchases at Home Security Store there is FREE LIFETIME Tech Support. We'll have an answer shortly.

  • @Xringer if the motion is facing the staircase then the cat can certainly trigger the motion, he could mask the lens of the detector to take that particular area from being seen.

  • @HomeSecurityStoreCom Thanks.

Logically the tape should work.. I hope the cat helps us test it..
