1965 Japanese anime based loosely on Gulliver's Travels. In this scene, Gulliver and his friends meet the Princess of the Star of Hope. Our Gang's Darla Hood is the voice of the princess. Screenplay was written by Shinichi Sekizawa. In one of his earliest animation jobs, a young Hayao Miyazaki also worked on this film. He is uncredited.

  • Where i can download this movie?

  • @OhBabyAnna This is the second feature film Miyazaki worked on at Toei. The first was Wan Wan Chushingura in 1963. At this time, he was still beginning as an "in-between" animator, but with this movie, he got the attention of the bosses at Toei when he suggested an idea for the ending to the movie. He was then moving up the ranks pretty quickly, with TV series like Hustle Punch and Wolf Boy Ken. And it was Horus, Prince of the Sun where he really emerged as a creative force.

  • Gah, I love Hayao Miyazaki's movies. No matter how old. Speaking of 'old' wasn't this his first movie?

  • Why don't they digitally remaster this hip gem from the 60s and release it in anamorphic widescreen to DVD already, before it disintegrates? I loved this movie when they would occasionlly show it on TV when I was a child? Sad. Someone do this. It is a classic of cool hipster anime.

  • I was curious if I could find this old work that I only vaguely recall from my childhood. It doesn't appear to be avail. for purchase anywhere. Its so neat that youtube has it.

  • Wow!! I haven't seen this since I was a little kid, but I often thought of it--so trippy!
