Dusty have another seizure

Dusty our dog having rough seizures more frequently, she start with that 3 years ago and and small dose of Phenobarbital use to help and she was seizure free for almost 8month but then it start again and we raise up the dose and nothing really change she was having them every 3 weeks like a cycle. Each time it's a 2days when she in the zone. Most of the time she got them early morning like 4-5am. We combine all kinds of medication and still no achievement. Our regular vet gave up and refer us to dog neurologist in Irvine, CA and still no luck....feel like we have try everything out there for dogs which is a human drugs as well. It doesn't look like tumor it's more likely epilepsy. I know it's hard to see her going through this and it's the first time ever I decide to film it since all of the time it occur I'm holding her head for not get hurt.

Dusty is approx 9 years old, I've rescue her after car accident in Israel and brought her here with me. She's mix with Canaan Dog which is a full Israeli breed.

Good news.

Since we start with the Kepra, 3 times a day Dusty doing allot batter. She didn't had a seizure for the past 6 weeks VS every week she use to have. Thanks for Dr Barry from Irvine animal specialty group we sleep good and not living in a fear that her seizure is close every day.

Dusty receive twice a day morning and evening...1grain Phenobarbital (which is the highest dosage for a dog), 800mg Gabapentin, 300mg Zonisamide and for hip pain tramadol.

Her Neurologist called and offer to put her again on Keppra but this time higher dosage...he claim that recently he raise the dose on similar case to Dusty and got good result. Will start next week and will see how it goes...keep u inform.

I found Dusty in Israel at the side of the road on may 3rd 2003 at the time the vat said she's around one year old. so she should be 9 years old give or take now. when i found her she was lying at the side of the road after car accident around 3am. i rush her to the nearest pet hospital and she's with me since then. she's a mix with Shepherd and Canaan dog which is a pure Israeli breed and one of the oldest exist. i came to the point that where I'm willing to try anything so don't hesitate if u hear on a new drag or new way.....we still open. YES it's hard to hear it every time but she has them once in 10 days. sometime early morning and sometime afternoon. she's a great dog happy and got lots of love.

thx all for sharing comments and thoughts. to all wonders we already tried all....name the drug or combination and be sure she was under it for awhile. we tried different dosage as well. still the same no change and her neurologist try every time to find a new way or a new medication.
