Miranda in the Sitcom Trials at Edinburgh Fringe

The Sitcom Trials is the comedy show devised by Kev F Sutherland where brand new sitcoms compete head to head and the audience vote for their favourite. The show enjoyed three successful years at the Edinburgh Fringe and a series on ITV1, plus national and international tours including Hollywood in 2005, and now runs at the Leicester Square Theatre in London. Miranda's eponymous sitcom, now on BBC 2, first appeared as part of The Sitcom Trials at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2001. It features Miranda, working in a joke shop that sells penis pasta, with a diminutive blonde sidekick, originally played by Charity Trimm, and the love interest in the cafe, played here by Gerard Foster. The camp character played here by Dan Clegg went on to be played in the TV series by James Holmes who, coincidentally, was the star of the 2002 Edinburgh Fringe Sitcom Trials.
