When life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your damn lemons, what the hell am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life’s manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's going to charge your iPod! With the Lemons! I'm going to get my engineers to design an electric Lemon that charges you iPod!

just wondering can u charge anyother devices like a psp 3000 with this experiment
-
couldnt you take the voltaic pile into a cup of lemon juice without the cardboard and to keep them together just put a dab a super glue in between each or even soldering each penny together
-
omg it works
-
for how many minutes does the charging last??

THANK YOU THANK YOU THAAAAANK YOUU!!!!!! im making a solar powered ipod using the same wiring method. this is going to help me so much now, because i didnt know what to do with the ipod charger! You have saved me!

be careful to not cross wires or apply charge to the wrong wires or you will short out your IPOD.
-
can i also do this in my IP?
-
I can charge my ipod just by looking at it.
Water would also work. Its the Zinc and copper that is doing all the work.

Pure water has no free ions to carry electrons so no voltage could be generated. Salt water would work to some extent. However the acid in lemon juice accelerates the reaction which is why I chose it as my electrolyte.

just wondering, how many pennies did you use to make the voltaic pile?
thanks

I don't remember exactly. Probably 20 to 30. The thing is, there are so many variables that you never know how many pennies it will take to reach your desired voltage. A voltmeter has to be used to determine the voltage of your pile and pennies can be added or subtracted accordingly.
