I saw the original manuscript of "La Campanella". It says allegretto and not presto. Why do people always want to play it Presto? I heard it in both versions many times before and they are worlds apart. The "Allegretto" has character and direction, and the "Presto" (like this version" loses it. Yes, if you play it "Allegretto" you can't show off, but it is about the touch that is virtuosic not the speed. Try and you will see, follow the composers indications and not the "traditional" ones.
