@anonymousguitarguy i dont know about under 300, but for 500(less if u find it on sale) i would reccomend epiphone's SG custom "the prophecy". EMG 81/85 pickups (stock) ebony fretboard, 24 frets. couple that with a line 6 amp( a 35 or 50 watt will be just fine) and you'll be all set. for under 300 though... idk i think you SOL
