Jean Carne is a superb vocalist with unlimited depth and dimension. Then again she has a five octave range!

  • I don't see how people can say Jean Carne sucks. She may not be everyone's cup o tea, but damn... sucks?!? The way she shimmy and shakes her voice send chills up my spine. I'm an Aretha fan, but I'll take this version any day. What an incredible song stylist. Long live Jean!

  • I was att a concert recently in Mitchelville Maryland in which Jean Carn said that Aretha's sister Carolyn (before she died) called her to tell her how moved she was by her version.

  • Wow, It's still the Best.

  • so much soulful talents and emotions. anyone who can sings Aretha's baby "Aint no way" as she did is great. Closer than close gets a person in trouble(good trouble). Truly superb, magnificent.

  • @fairydust3250 I ain't saying you are a redneck c&w loving hick...you are just wrong about Fantasia that's all

  • omg just stop! and what was up with those crazy whistle notes in the background?? was someone torturing carolyn franklin in the background to make her give jean good feedback??

  • I FORGOTTEN ALL ABOUT JEAN CRANE WHO HAD ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL VOICES IN THE WORLD. AND JUST LIKE THAT YOU FORGET SO MY HATS OFF TO U TUBE FOR THE MEMORIES OF JEAN CARNE. THANK YOU JEAN FOR YOUR BEAUTIFUL VOICE.!

  • @SugareeMoments Thanks for the comment. The first time I ever heard Jean was at a dance club in San Francisco on New Year's Eve 1979. She sang "Was That All It Was" and BLEW THE ROOF OFF THE HOUSE! As we used to say back in the day "she peed all over the stage!". lol. (meaning she owned it and she was awesome). I've been a huge fan ever since.

  • @brg5 OBSOLUTELY! WELL SAID! THANK YOU.
