@tyebo87 Thanks for the interest.......You're right. I did more of a speed kick. When you do the traditional roundhouse. You telegraph. When you chamber and THEN roll your hip. You hide the kick longer. Meaning it could be a roundhouse. It could be a front kick. It could be a "cut" kick, or even a front crescent. I'm a smaller guy. I rely on speed.
THIS IS NOT a traditional round house for a start a trad one uses the ball of the foot as the striking tool not the instep. the trad kick chambers from the side of the body not the from and it comes round in a circluar motion like a thai kick. this modern sport round house is used because it can be flicked out quicker so that it will score a point. the bones in the instep will just break if you caught your opponents elbow of leg. were as the ball of the foot wont.
its not more powerfull its just quicker. speed + mass = power not speed alone. this kick shown does use enough hip rotation as the traditional kick does therefore it doent have the weight of the body behind it.
tyebo a modern sport sparring roundhouse is much more powerful then a traditional roundhouse....why do you think it has evolved. It evolved with science...don't you know that speed equals power. i have done bothe traditonal and olympic style.
Well dude, you can't be that picky. He's pretty much trying to do a traditional roundhouse, but, he doesn't twist as much, and his leg isn't level enough.
youve obviously never studied in a real tkd dojang then. this video thows the sport version of the kick which is all about speed. the traditional non sporting version chambers from the side then comes around horizontal to the target striking with the ball of the foot or instep. its a much more powerfull kick and is the one which you will need to use when power breaking.

if your going to do a technique video then at least the technique should be correct, or at least correctly named.
