**PLZ READ BEFORE YOU WATCH**
This is me having a riding lesson. The horse I'm riding isn't mine, he's just kept at the place where I ride. Tobi's owners rode him in draw reins for over a year instead of trying to correct his initial problems. Because he just used to use the draw reins to lean on, when they took them off he found it almost impossible to work in an outline because he was free of the restriction so he just stuck his head in the air. I think this proves that draw reins are not the answer and will usually just make the problem worse. As you can see once Tobi learns that he can flex his head and neck and it's actually more comfortable if he doesn't evade the hand then he isn't hard to get into an outline. He also finds it much harder to bend to the right as he was mainly kept on the left rein. As well as all this he finds it hard to move off the leg because he is used to being strung up rather then allowed to stretch. I think this shows that it makes more sense to work through problems than to use gadgets which hide them. As you can see he's a real sweety pie and tries his hardest. This was my first time riding him and I had no idea what he was like or what he could do, I just rode what I felt. Oh and I don't need any advice on my riding, that's why I have lessons.
Enjoy and comment nicely etc plz :)
thanks. yeh it is and now he's in the frame of mind that he doesn't want to work in an outline because he associates it with being forced. He's ace though!
