'Rosita Hermosa' Beautiful Rose is part of the latest DVD by 'Orquidea Corazon del Canipaco' artistic name of Evelyn Chanco Moreno. Evelyn's unique style reflects the rural life in the Canipaco a village in the high regions of Huancayo.
Orquidea Corazon del Canipaco and the Orquestra folk'Super Sonido de America' have created a rich variety of melodies to celebrate the 2007 Santiago festivity.
The Santiago also known as Herranza is a Peruvian andean ritual celebrated since the 11th century AC by the ancient Wanca civilisation that covered Huancavelica and Junin. The ritual is based on the farming activities such as the end of the harvest period and the marking 'Señalakuy' of the farm animals.
The ceremony has four parts: 'Uchuy Mesa' Minor Table, 'Jatun Mesa' Major Table, 'Señalakuy' marking and 'Cerrojoy' closing. The music plays a role in the last three parts where the 'Pasñas' women sing playing the 'Tinya' drums. The 'maktas' men play the yungor a wind instrument, the violin and the arp.
