Nothing Else Matters ~ Ch. 53 "I hope you liked it." [Marathon]

(Kevin's POV)
We walked down to the first floor but I stopped her. "Let me just go get something." She nodded and I ran to my room. I grabbed my guitar and a piece of paper next to it. I locked my door and returned to Rebecca. "Okay, now we can go." She was staring at the guitar in my hand.
"What's that for?" She pointed at my guitar.
"Um, nothing. How about we leave?"
"Okay."

We walked outside and got into my truck. I put the guitar in the backseat and drove off. We were silent and it make me nervous for some unknown reason. My phone began to ring and I heard Rebecca jump. I smiled and answered it.
"Hello?"
"Be grateful," the voice said. "Next time, you may not find her at all."
"Who the hell are you?!" I screamed. Dial tone. I was furious. "Damn it!" I slammed my phone shut and hit the steering wheel. Who the heck was this guy?! And why was he warning me about Rebecca? Was I really going to lose her? To some guy I didn't know?

We got to the hospital and I turned off the car. I sat there, frustrated about the stupid phone calls. I felt a warm hand on my arm and I turned to see a worried Rebecca. "Kevin, what"s wrong?"
I quickly kissed her. "Nothing."

I jumped out of the truck and Rebecca followed. I held my guitar in one hand and had the other wrapped around her waist. I wanted to keep her close. I wanted to protect her. This was my girlfriend, my love. No one was about to take her away from me. Rebecca went in and talked to Xander for a while. She came out with a few dry tears on her face.

I hugged her, kissed her cheek, and walked in with my guitar in hand. I sat down next to Xander. "Hey, I'm back again. I don't know if I told you but I kinda wrote a song for you. I don't like you like that though. I mean, I love Rebecca. But... you are my best friend and I care for you like a brother. I know it's kinda rough but here it goes.

That one time where you asked out that one girl
And she just laughed and walked away

Video games for seven hours straight
All that fun plus chips and pizza that we ate
All those crazy adventures we had portray us as insane

As I finished talking, the unexpected... happened.
