  • Shouldn't the vasa recta be going the opposite direction of the nephron to give the Counter Current for water to follow salt after it was pumped out?

  • i ddint know the salt was reabsorbed by the vasa recta. my text book says the sodium is used to create a concentration gradient with a low water potential in the medulla therefore making it easier for water to be reabsorbed in the collecting duct.
