  • Hey there, I ust received my practice chanter, and first, thanks for the video, it helped to get the notes right. Still more practice needed though.

I just have a question: is the lowest note (first you played a G or and A ? Cause it's the second videao that says it's a G, but my book says it's A... Weird, and confusing... Any one knows better than me?

  • thank you for the wonderful tutorial

  • keep your finges straight, notice the curlling when you go to B. also practice everyday and your fingers will get more relaxed and you wont look so tense! you also shouldent lift your fingers off the chanter so high but I am sure you were just doing that so you can see in the video.

  • with bagpipes an A-sharp is actually closer to a b-flat with any other woodwind instrument

  • Sounds really sharp to me

  • my chanter just squirrels all over the place with pitch on every note depending on exactly how much air pressure it is getting, i don't know if its just a garbage reed or what

  • Make sure you keep your pinky .... up. LOL. Thanks for putting this on youtube. It's acutally much more complicated than playing the flute Oo
