To celebrate BalconyTV achieving ONE MILLION VIEWS, we welcome a legend of Irish broadcasting - Dustin The Turkey, currently star of RTEs Once A Week Show.
Also a builder, he conforms to stereotype, going on continual tea breaks, and indicating that he is prepared to do dodgy deals with anybody, including certain politicians. Uniquely in Irish public life, he has not received any reprimand or 'gagging request'. As a 'Dub' he is also prepared to lump all people west of Finglas, Lucan and Tallaght as 'Culchies', even when wishing them happy birthday. Insults targeted at County Leitrim come particularly thick and fast. He has however never insulted anybody under the age of 14 on any occasion.

I remember when Dustin was the humble shop steward for Zig and Zag. I have many fine of memories of Dustin then. I remember the time Dustin and his comrades were asked to put up a shelf in the studio. Well he had scaffolding out and then they decided to go on strike. It was side splitting funny stuff. Good to see he's still going and good luck at Eurovision.

Apparently he was supposed to be signed up by Channel 4 with Zig and Zag many years ago but they decided against it on the grounds that his accent was deemed to be too strong for a UK audience. What a laugh it'll be if he wins Eurovision!
